Students who’ve received support through the Vermont Scholarship Fund represent a wide cross-section of Vermonters—from low-income students to students with disabilities to returning adult students. But what these students have in common is a drive to succeed, a deep gratitude for the support they’ve received, and a strong desire to use their education to give back to others.

Thank you so much for this generous scholarship.  It is amazing to have a community that is making it possible for me to attend college.  I feel that there is something very special about small communities and all the support this one has given me.  I am very grateful for this and am determined to make the community proud and look forward to coming back and visiting.  Thank you again for your generosity, it is greatly appreciated.

I was lucky enough to be one of the recipients of your scholarship.  I am so incredibly grateful to have this opportunity to express the person I am and be able to show my friends and family what a great teacher I will be in the future thanks to your help.  Thank you so much for your wonderful donation to my education.  I am proud to announce I will be attending Champlain College in Burlington, VT for a major in Early Childhood education with a minor in Social Work.  I have wanted to be a teacher since I was young and I'm so excited to not only be going to college, but also be the first in my family to go to college.  There are no words to express how grateful I am that this committee helped me to achieve my goal.  Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for awarding me the Governor Phil Hoff Vermont Honor Scholarship.  It will be a huge help in paying for my first year of college.  Without this scholarship I would have trouble paying my tuition so thank you so much again!  Being awarded this scholarship is a great honor and it will push me to work even harder in my classes next year.
