APPLY FOR VSAC'S VERMONT ADVANTAGE STUDENT LOAN

  1. Apply if you are …
    • a Vermont resident attending college in or out of state, or
    • from another state and attending college in Vermont
       
  2. Choose your cosigner. The cosigner’s credit rating determines your origination fee:
    • 0% fee with excellent credit
    • 3% fee with better credit
    • 5% fee with good credit
       
  3. Choose your fixed interest rate based on the repayment option you select.
    • 4.80% for immediate repayment (lowest total cost): 4.80% to 5.56% APR
    • 5.40% for interest-only payments (reduced cost) 5.40% to 6.00% APR
    • 6.30% for deferred repayment (higher cost): 6.09% to 6.61% APR

  1. Apply if you are a parent borrowing to finance the education of:
    • your student attending college in Vermontor
    • your Vermont student who is attending college out of state or abroad
       
  2. Choose your fixed interest rate based on the repayment option you select.
    • 4.80% for immediate repayment (lower total cost); 4.80% to 5.56% APR
    • 6.30% for delayed repayment (higher total cost); 6.27% to 6.96% APR
       
  3. Your credit rating determines the origination fee.
    • 0% fee with excellent credit
    • 3% fee with better credit
    • 5% fee with good credit

  • Student borrowers:
    • Your home address
    • Your driver’s license #
    • 2 references who have known you for at least 3 years and are not your parents or your cosigner
    • Your cosigner’s full name and your cosigner’s email address
       
  • Cosigners:
    • Your address
    • Your driver’s license #
    • 2 personal references (do not use the student as a reference)
    • The student’s name and date of birth
    • The application reference id (sent by email)
    • The requested loan amount
       
  • Parent borrowers: 
    • Your address
    • Your driver’s license #
    • 2 personal references (do not use the student as a reference)
    • Your student’s school’s name
    • Your requested loan amount
    • The loan period (month/year of school year)
